Modernization and automation of adjustable electric drivers of the main mining conveyers was carried out at Production Units 2, 3 and 4 of JSC Belaruskali.

Before the modernization the main mining conveyers were driven by direct starting. During the starting dynamic strikes affected the mechanic system of the conveyer in a damaging way. All the elements, from the conveyer belt to the drum, suffered brief but heavy loads. As a result the conveyers often stopped working and demanded regular maintenance.

The main technical solution:                                

 Replacing the existing electric drives into less powerful ones and reducing the number of electric drives

 While carrying out modernization we applied:

 Siemens electric drives

 Frequency transformation plants with fluid cooling produced by PASSAT Holding on the basis of Siemens converter Sinamics S120

The following operations were carried out:

 Design work,

 Purchase, manufacture and delivery of equipment, materials and goods to the customer,

 Assembly, starting-up and adjustment of the delivered equipment.

Modernization allowed the customer:

 to reduce more than two times the installed capacity of the electric drives;

 to reduce the specific consumption of electric power for ore delivery by 37 %;

 to increase the efficiency of the belt:

• High availability of the conveyer (97,5 %);
• Possibility to increase the efficiency of the conveyer by 20%;
• Simplicity of automation, flexibility of control systems;
• Minimumdynamicloads;
• Reduction of heat emitted by the drive;
• Protection of drives from overcharges and damage;
